Hey friends and fam!! Last time I said I was in the area "Mazapa". Here's some things that go on here:
Transportation is by bus or mototaxi which I have a pic of one. The buses are school buses but they are decked out with all this gear and they have a lot of sayings about God which is cool. It costs about 25 Lempiras to go from Mezapa to Progresso which is where most of the interviews and conferences are. There is a stake center there too which is where we go as a Zone to Ball. It's a pretty nice building.
The streets here are pretty nasty. All dirt roads in mezapa and you can't go more than 5 feet without seeing trash. Pretty sad and gross. They need to do something about it but it doesn't look like there will be anything happening soon. Also there are a bunch of dogs, cows and horses roaming the streets. Pretty weird but I guess it's normal but it's nasty cuz they poop everywhere so that makes walking down the streets pretty interesting.
Showers and flushing the toilet is different here. You have to use a bucket of water to flush the toilet and you have to use a bucket to shower. There's hardly ever pressure here so it's the norm. For some reason the faucets that fill up the sink thingy out back that we wash our clothes in has water for the most part and the faucet that fills our buckets for the shower normally has water. Yesterday was the first day we haven't had water come out of these faucets. Luckily we had the sink thing filled so we have enough but I don't know about for tomorrow so this is going to be interesting haha.
Missionary work is moving along. At least it was for the first two weeks I was here. My second week in we had 2 baptisms. I got to perform one for the younger one and It was a cool experience. It makes me so happy that I can help people recieve this ordinance to become clean and to progress for a new and better life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a blessing in everybodies lives. I've learned so much this past two weeks that I wish I could share but I'll just stick to a quick little message.
This past little while has been interesting with it's hard and good times. In times where I have been down are when I have turned to the Lord and let me tell you something. He IS ALWAYS THERE!!! Everytime I've asked for help He has answered my prayer and helped me get through the next few hours or the day or even the next half hour. Whenever you need a friend, Comforter or even someone to talk their ear off Heavenly Father is there 24/7. Yes even at 2:00 in the morning. Please remeber Him because He remembers you and wants to help you as much as he can. All you need to do is ask. I love you all but nothing compares to how much God and Jesus Christ loves you. Always remember that!
(Here's a cool scripture Alma 36:3)
Love you all!!
