Aint No Mountain High Enough

Hey fam and friends!

This week was pretty awesome! Tuesday started out with divisions again. It was cool because this time I went again to progreso but with Elder Dalton. So he and I are both Gringos so it must've been a pretty sight haha. It was pretty cool though because as we were walking down the streets to appointments people were shouting things in English and a guy even stopped us and talked in his broken English. It was cool because he basically shared his whole back life with us with only knowing us for 5 minutes. Such a chill guy!

Wednesday we had a Multi-Zone Conference which was fun. We got to see president with his wife and they are so nice. Sister Carlise made us little muffins from scratch. I'm not joking when I say this, they basically tasted like little chocolate muffins from costco. Things taste way better when you haven't had them for a while. We learned how to be better missionaries which was cool. I left my notes in the house so I can't share what he inspired us with but it was good and that's all you need to know haha.

This week was pretty rough with our investigators. Like I said in my last letter we are starting the "winter" which is the rainy season. We got dumped on the first three days of this week. It rained so much that some areas were flooding. For example, we couldn't go teach the family in Batan which we've been teaching because the road was flooded. When we could finally reach them they said that the water came up to their stomaches which is almost up to my mid thigh/waist (if that helps you picture the height level). They had to evacuate and they said it was rough but they're still happy like usual which is so cool. Something crazy badish like that happened and they were still happy with life. That is some quality life right there. Also they came to church this week!!!!! That's unbelievable because they're the first investigators we've had at church since september. Hopefully they'll keep coming because they're such an amazing family.

Hope all is well!

Mah Zone!!
We were on a bus and saw this. Pretty cool and sketchy!
It's kinda weird but here the chickens sleep in the trees. I don't  know if that's normal. It isn't to me haha
We went on a hike to a mountain today. If you've ever hiked the hike called "Subway" down in southern utah, the hike is like the last part of the subway. Mix that with something like Hiking the Y and you've kinda got an idea of what we did. The good thing is it was cloudy and perfect temp for hiking

Soaked to the BONE

Hello family and friends!
I'd like to report that I'm still alive and well!

This week "winter" started. Haha man if the people here only knew what winter was hahaha. Basically winter here is what the weather is like in April but a little warmer. We have been getting a ton of rain.

On Tuesday we had divisions and I went with an Elder in Progreso. That night we were teaching and then we went to the family that gave us dinner. They were having a party for a kid so there were a bunch of people over and they were having cake with some sweet tunes blaring. First time i've heard English music in a while(it was some good ole Ed Sheeran "Perfect" just in case you were wondering haha). While we were finishing up dinner it started to pour and I mean POURED. We were wating for it to stop while the family was trying to impress me with their English songs. Man it was kinda weird. We waited for about an hour and it was getting pretty late so we had to just go for it. I didn't bring my umbrella so I got soaked from head to toe. The awesome thing was that the roads were basically rivers no joke!! When there were places where we could walk we were basically doing the long jump. I felt like a kid again playing the hot lava game haha. I decided to make the most out of the situation and just laugh with my comp. It was pretty fun!!

This week was kinda rough because we went to go teach Isis and she wasn't there! We tried about 4 times this week which is a big sacrifice cuz it's a good walk from where we normally teach. It's so frustrating!! Every time we call her she's doing homework for school which ends in 2 weeks so I kinda understand. Gotta cram in all the final term stuff and boost your grade up haha. Hopefully once school is done we'll be able to find her.

LOVE YOU ALL!!

"You don't have to like it, you just have to eat it"

Hey fam and friends it's nice to talk to you again!!

THis week was pretty cool. We found a family that lives in a little town called "catrachos". Catracho is basically a redneck but for the people here in Honduras. I don't know if it's on the map or anything but the town is far away from where we live. We normally take a moto-taxi to go there and then we walk the long path back haha. It's about 4.5 Kilometers is what my comp and I figured out( sorry I don't know how to convert that to miles haha). But anyways we were looking there for a reference from the Branch President and we found them!! They're an awesome fam. 5 kids and the parents. The PERFECT size for a family ;) (same size as mine). The oldest is 11 and then goes down from there. But they're so cool. They are always willing to have us in their home and the kids have so much energy holy cow!! They run around the "yard" a bajillion times while we are teaching but it's ok. The problem here in central america is a lot of the couples are just living together. So basically everytime we ask if they're married they say yes and then we ask if it's legally and they say know. Haha I don't know if you can say you're married if it's not legal..... but ya anyways we've been teaching them and they're really interested in us helping them get married and they really love families and awe man hopefully they'll progress because they're awesome!!

I was reading in my scriptures this week and read Mosiah 7:33. It's a good scripture and you can take a break from doing whatever and go read it. Trust me it's not one of those super long scriptures! But after I read it I decided that I wanted to mark all the scriptures with a tab that have to do with Comfort, Motivation, Hope, Courage etc. Basically scriptures that'll make me feel good. I have started but I wanna hear from you. What scriptures can you think of that help pick you up? (please send them cuz I wanna read/mark them)

Oh haha and last but not least the reason for the title. So we were in a less active member's house and we were teaching the dad cuz he's not a member. It was an awesome lesson and they were super nice and open to what we were teaching. After we finished the lesson they asked if we wanted some juice. As we were walking to their table they asked us if we wanted something. I didn't understand them cuz my spanish vocab isn't too big but I didn't turn them down and so niether did my comp......... Oh how I wish we did hahaha. They put a plate with a leg of a pig and them some rice, beans and then she made some solid tortillas. But can you believe it?!?!?!?! I ATE THE LEG OF A PIG!!!! It was gross cuz it still had some little hairs and it was basically grisle. Oh man the famous quote in our fam from My Grandpa Davis (I think it's from him) is "You don't have to like it, you just have to eat it!" This phrase is gonna help me in hard times like that one

A lady gave us a ton of food for free!! Worth 220 Lempiras which is a ton here (about $10)

I don't really fit on the buses so this is how it works everytime. I actually have more room in this picture.

The Shelves in the buses to put our bags and groceries

Our clothes don't completely dry so they hang and our house is full haha

Toucan

I've heard a ton about how there are lots of natural disasters hitting the USA and my mom brought up the idea of maybe the second coming is near..... WOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!

This week we were visiting Hermana Isis (our investigator). She is progressing so much. Everytime we teach she is just beaming with joy and is so willing to learn. We teach her stuff and then ask what she learned and for the most part she doesn't remember haha but the good thing is she is open to all of the lessons and commandments and is trying to live them. That's what is important.

During conference we did a "Zone Fast" which was kinda hard cuz the tradition with conference is you get to chill and have what's called "pajama church" with a bunch of food...... you can't have that when you are fasting but let me tell you it was a cool experience! This past week we have been walking down the street and less active members come up to us all happy and say they are gonna come to church the next sunday. The sad thing is they didn't actually come but it was cool to see they had the desire to!

We have another investigator named Segundo which translates to Second. Haha the first time I heard the name I had to comfirm it with my comp after the visit haha. He's such a solid guy. He's about 60ish years old but still running like a well oiled machine. He is learning and loves it when we come over because we are "preaching to eachother about the gospel". Haha he's a good guy and hopefully we can get him to start coming to church!.

All Is well here in MEZAPA. Luckily the hurricane hasn't affected us here. It's still Blazin' and I'm drenched but with sweat.... Oh ya that reminds me there was enough water from a rain storm one day that we could use the shower. OH MY what a blessing that was. It's been a while since I showered like that. Clarifier I do bathe just with a bucket of water haha

LOVE you all!!
Elder Beardall

We found this cool Tucan it think is what that's called haha

We were looking around in a part of our area and found another "Maca" bridge. Maca is a hammock so I guess it's a hammock bridge?

So the missionaries before me spent a lot of time in the Bathroom it looks like cuz they drew lots of stuff

A recent convert (about 1 year) gave my comp and I these bracelets. They're so giving here holy moly!

INSPIRATION

Wow I'm amazed at how bomb conference was. It's weird to say that I looked forward to it. I feel like it was too short. Again something weird for me to say haha. After the last session I felt like there was still more to be shared. I was fed spiritually so much but like every teenaged boy, I was still hungry. But not physically thanks to my mom for the snacks. I was hungry spiritually. I have come to realize on the mission that I am constantly hungry for spiritual food. I AM ADDICTED TO BEING SPIRITUALLY FED!! It's an awesome thing. Probably the only addiction that is good ;) but speaking of being spiritually fed I'd like to share some of the notes/quotes that I wrote down from Conference:

Elder Utchdorf: "Reasons why to turn to god: 1. Your life will be better 2. God will use you to help others." How good is that.

Elder Nelson: "something powerful happens when children of God try to learn more about him"

Elder Zwick: "truly loving others means we need to love other's shortcomings"

Elder Andersen: "You don't know everything, but you do know enough"

Elder Hales (through elder andersen): When we choose to have fain, we are prepared to stand before God"

Another from Elder Andersen: "Our greatest tes is how we respond"

Man I wish I could share my whole notebook but that'd be a ton but hopefully you will spiritually feed yourself as much as possible and even more when the conference talks come out.

Love you all

So there's a fruit here called "leechas" and it's an interesting looking fruit. Go look them up
