Merry Christmas!!

Hey Family and Friends!

Wow man was this an awesome week! Here's an update on all of our investigators:

The family Cruz in Naranjo is progressing so much. We've visited them a lot lately and it was cool because we called to confirm our appointment and they were talking to my comp saying that ever since we started coming and teaching they've been blessed a lot which was well needed because I felt like nobody was progressing. They kinda accepted a baptismal and marriage date for January 27th so hopefully they'll be able to come to church and have the blessings and happiness through the gospel.

Hno. Joel isn't progressing though so that is pretty rough. Well ok he is progressing with all the lessons and he's reading the Book of Mormon but he doesn't come to church. I want him to come because he loves learning and loves what we teach. He just doesn't come to church. I've learned to love church a little bit more because of that. Not that many people come to church but if only they knew the importance of the Sacrament. Wow am I thankful for the Sacrament because we feel new every week. I'm never going to skip church for the rest of my life!

The members on Sunday were so generous and they gave us a ton of food and especially tamales. That's the tradition here. Everybody makes tamales. That made it hard because we went to visit some people they all said oh im super busy making tamales. They were pretty good but I forgot to take a picture so sorry about that.

I hope you all have had a Merry Christmas and like my parents always said/taught "remember that this time is fun with all the presents but we should always remember about the birth of Jesus Christ" I love this because I needed to focus more oh Christ and not the presents I was going to open. I love Christmas because its a time as a family. Always remember the true meaning of christmas!!

Love you all

Iguana for dinner?

Buenas Dias familia y amigos!!

So changes was this week but since I'm still training we've got a whole other change together which means I get to spend Christmas here in Mezapa!!

Well this week was pretty rough I'm not gonna lie. We were going to teach the young girl, Perla that had a baptism date planned for this weekend but when we went to get permission from her mom she told us that she's not gonna give permission and that her daughter wouldn't be attending church anymore. We visited her in the morning and the rest of that day was pretty rough because I was super excited for her. But like always there's a reason for everything and hopefully she will still have the desire in the future when she can choose for herself.

We found a sweet investigator in the little town of Naranjo in our area. He and his family are super cool! They always accept us and they actually remember that we have a time scheduled to visit them. Normally people are suprised when we show up haha. But yeah they're super generous, always buying coke or pepsi and cookies for us and one time he said he was gonna make us lunch so that'll be cool if he does! They didn't show up to church for the second week in a row so that was disappointing. Hopefully they come next week!!

We have another investigator named Joel. He loves to read and learn about what we teach. He says "I'm excited for what you have to bring for me next time" almost everytime we leave. He doesn't like commitments though so he won't commit to come to church or to pray to know if the church is true. Hopefully he progresses because he's such a good guy!

Hope you all have a great week and enjoy your christmas traditions!!

I bought pancake mix and they were good but not like my parents make them.

We were out playing soccer with the neighbors and they started to gut this iguana. They eat that here!!

Hallelujah!

Hey Fam and Friends!

We are finally free!! Everything here has calmed down and we are allowed to go out and share the good news. This past week we've had a curfew set by the government from 6 pm to 6 am so still a little limited but man was it nice to leave!

We have been searching for people to teach because not that many people that we've found progress but we've found some new people and I'm super excited!!

We have an investigator this week that has a baptismal date set so hopefully all will go well. We still haven't been able to get permission from her mom but it's because we haven't been able to find her. It's crazy how satan works when you're so close to helping someone recieve the blessings of Baptism. But guess what, My comp and I are gonna work harder!!

Besides that not much really happened. The people here are still mad and so they've been doing protests, marches and they've blocked off the path to Progresso so that's kinda rough. Keep Honduras in ALL of your prayers please!!(Even your meal prayers ;) )

Hope you all have had a great week and keep sharing the gospel to the whole world. If you don't know how there's simple ways that the church has planned everyday this month. Look it up! They're simple but it doesn't matter if it's small or big. "When you're in the service of your fellow being, ye are only in the service of your God". Keep up the good work!!

One of the chips bags had a mouth so we took pics, enjoy haha

So when we were stuck in the house we bought a bunch of stuff the day before so thankfully we weren't starving but we (well my comp) made some food and some of the members brought food to us. Such great members!

Here's all the food that we bought....... Yeah we stalked up!

Lock Down

Hey Fam and Friends!
So this week was pretty crazy. We were contacting and visiting like normal and we were having lots of success. People were accepting us in and we were able to have lots of appointments. Well here in Honduras there is the elections going on and man is it brutal! On sunday they were supposed to know who the new president was but there was a power outage and when the power came on the president that is in power right now was winning and then there was a delay until thursday to find out who won and the current president got re-elected and that´s never happened so everybody is man and protesting and there isn´t much control here so it´s pretty violent. We got a call from our leaders Thursday evening around 5 saying that we had to return to our house ASAP. There was a lot of protesting and all that jazz and so President Carlisle wanted all of the missionaries in their houses. We have been in our house since then and we were given permission to leave to come write so that´s awesome! But no need to worry because Mezapa is probably the safest area in the mission and there is literally nothing going on. The members have been nice and brought us meals and luckily we stocked up Thursday morning so there´s no starving happening here. It´s rough because we´ve got nothing to do in the house. I just want to get out and serve people. The good thing is we´ve been able to study a lot and learn a lot. I read another talk that I loved and want all of you to read. It´s by Elder W. Craig Zwick titled ¨Lord wilt thou cause that my eyes may be opened¨. Man it is so good!!
Love you and and Hope all is well there!
