Burn Baby Burn

As you can read from the subject there is something burning and that thing that is burning is us. The  sun here is super strong and we are walking in it a ton. If it werent for sunscrean I would be fried every day. But there is no place that I would rather be.

Happy Easter everyone. I hope you all enjoyed looking for the eggs that the Bunny left for you all. And like always that you remembered Our Savior Jesus Christ and what he did for each and every one of us. I love him so much!

This week we put the hammer down and worked our butts off. One because we were slacking a little bit and two because we want to help everybody. We have been working with some teenagers that  are friends of our recent convert Edgardo. He is such a good kid and he invites his friends and we are teaching hisfriends which are super cool. I love them so much and love their desire to learn more.

We had interviews this week and well that is another reason why we started to work harder was because of what we realized we werent doing. But anyways something that president shared was how to commit our investigators to do what they need  to progress and have the spirit in their lives. One of the things is to promiseblessings if they keep the commitments and there is a scripture in Doctring and Covenants 82 10 that he shared and I love it so go look it up!! I love my mission president and I know that he is called for this mission for a reason. Such a good guy.

General Conference is this next weekend so make sure you tune in to some spiritual feasting. I am super pumped. Next week I would love to hear what you learn.

LOVE YOU SO MUCH and have a great week!!

FUEGO

Heyoooooo!

So this week was pretty awesome!! We've been on fire because we had a baptism!!!! It was super awesome and I am super happy for Erica. She was super prepared when we met her and she basically  knew every single lesson. She didnt take coffee or have a problem with the law of Chastity. Nothing! She was prepared and sent from God.

This last Thursday was pretty interesting! We got a call at 7:30 in the morning from Elders from another area saying that they needed some help. A sister in their area that also gives us food wednesday night and Friday for lunch. They called us saying that in the night their house caught on fire and they needed help. I didn't really think much caught on fire because the houses here in Honduras are pure concrete. I was wrong. When we got there at around 8:30 my jaw dropped in shock. Everything was burnt and there was ash everywhere. We got to work and man was it fun! I don't know why but service projects like that are super fun for me. We worked from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm only stopping for lunch and dinner that a neighbor provided for us. The thing that I loved was that all the neighbors and family were there to support and clean up the mess. The stake president arrived and called other Elders that  live close to come help. There were 10 missionaries and a ton of other people. We shoveled a ton of ash and metal and basically a bunch of garbage. When all that was gone we destroyed the walls. That was probably my favorite part. All that work made us exhausted and when we got home we cleaned up and had to go to another lesson that we had that night and it was super rough cuz I couldn't think I was so tired haha. Luckily they understood why and it all went well. The sister that house burnt has some kids in the states that are helping and there are a ton of organizations and neighbors helping them rebuild their house. I love this sister, Hna. Conchita, so much. She's like a second mom because she takes care of everyone!

Today we went to a lagoon and it was ok. I'll send some pics from our photoshoot. I'm pretty pumped because we have been planning our Pday's to do some cool stuff so stay tuned to some loco fotos.

Love you all!

Melting

OYYYYEEE

So this week we had Changes anddddddddd......... We both stay here. Yeah we don't have changes so Elder Sarceño and I will be working like nobody's business here in Calpules.

This week nothing really happened to be honest. Every thursday we play soccer with the ward and they say that I've improved since I got here. It is such a good workout and I am soaked after. Like my shirt is sticking to me because I'm super sweaty. Got the picture? ;) It's blazing here!!

We have a baptism planned for this next week so we are super pumped. Her name is Erica and she is 29 years old. She's super awesome and is basically a member.

I didn't have much to take for pictures so I don't have much.

Excuse me?

So this week was awesome with lots of things happen. Here are a few.

So something really weird that happened to me. We were outside the church, across the street teaching a man in the shade. We were having a good conversation when all of a sudden a dude came up to us and gave me a high five. Ok pretty normal right? Well after the high five he started to roll up my pant legs and pull down my socks and then did it to the other leg and then stood there for a little bit looking at my blinding white ankles. Weird huh? well this dude got super excited to see my white ankles that he started to try to take my shoes off. At that point I stopped him and put everything back to normal. When I did that he stood up looked at me and walked away....... My comp, the man we were teaching and I were just super confused at what happened. I'm pretty sure there's something different with him but I was super shocked.

This Saturday we had interviews with president and I don't know why but i've never been more excited to have an interview before haha. It was so cool and I know for a fact that President Carlisle is called to help us here in San Pedro Sula. I love him so much! He always shares good messages and has quotes and scriptures that he has us read in the interview. One of the quotes came from a talk Elder Bednar gave in October 2017 (pretty sure it was in conference but i'm not 100%). I talked about how we shouldln't be running when we don't know where we are going. I love that because sometimes we just have so much to do that we don't really think as to where we want to go in life. Pretty crazy!

Saturday we had another baptism here in the Calpules Ward. These members here are stellar!! They bring their friends and family that aren't member and have us teach them. That's basically how all of our investigators are right now. Edgardo was one of them and he was baptized Saturday by my comp. Such a cool experience and his mom came!! She said she loved the baptism and she felt good so hopefully we can help her make the steps necessary to follow in her son's footsteps.

I know this gospel is true and I love that I know that Families are eternal and that we aren't alone in this life. God is there when we feel like nobody is. Talk to Him because He wants to talk to you!
