Pineda

Well folks it's nice to be talkin to you one more week. Here's how life's been this last week.

So new comp- Elder Quñonez, from Parramos Guatemala, 6 siblings, he's been out 19 months. I think i nailed all the info that is normally asked about new comps so there ya go

New area: Dirt roads but decent houses, The members here are super cool and they are really animated to work with us missionaries which is super cool because well it was kinda the opposite in my last area. It's a super small area and well i basically know the whole area now so we'll see how long i last here before going crazy. We share the ward with one companionship of the secretaries so that's cool. We eat with them every dinner which is nice. Good thing about that is if packages come or if i need something from the office they can bring it. And well i can walk about 25 minutes and I'm there. Oh and well here there's a gang that watches the area where we are which is pretty cool. They['re chill with the missionaries so no need to worry. But i'm excited to see what happens here

This week wasn't filled with lots of exciting things. I got to the house and when we first opened the door a wave of Who knows what slammed into us. Smelled like a high school locker room. I couldn't handle it so we spent all day THursday cleaning the house because we live in a super big house. Everything smells and looks a lot better. I'll send some pics to show a little bit of the mess there. Thanks to my job before the mission I got used to cleaning gnarly things.

So the missionaries here before got lazy and well we don't have any investigators that are talkable. Next week i'll update you.

We had ward conference which was cool. Lots of less actives came because we worked hard with the leaders to invite everybody. Hopefully they'll come next week and well forever haha.

Keep praying to your Heavenly Father because he wants to hear from you day and night. You can do it!

La Lima

This week was full of suprises and Miracles. Here's a few of the things we saw here in La Ceiba:

On Tuesday we had divisions with the DL and I went to their area to learn and to teach. We were out visiting and finally it came to the moment where we didn't have anyone to visit so we went to contact. We were walking down and looking but didnt find anything. We keep walking and trying different houses when we see a guy outside. I usually have a tendency to see people outside and just pass the house but decided to get over my fears. We contacted the guy and he was welcoming and we put an appointment to return so we'll see what happens. The Lord blesses us when we are obedient.

Thursday was E' Tibbals' birthday so we hit him up with a traditional Honduras treatment: Eggs and Flour. You throw the eggs first to get the liquid so the flour sticks after. Pictures below ;)

That same day we recieved 2 references. Yeah 2 WHOLE REFERENCES!!!! First this is my first reference here. Second they were from a recient convert and missionary and the thing is these references have lots of member support. Super excited for them and I feel like they will progress a ton!

So here's some bad news!! Well good but bad. I HAVE CHANGES AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah i'm super bummed because I love it here! The members are so awesome and I have come to love it here. Not just because it's beautiful but it's just awesome here! My new area is in La Lima called Pineda. Never heard of it so this will be interesting! I'm pumped to see what good that is to come.

Have a good week!

Proud to be an American!

Oye!!!

So I've realized that I haven't shared much about our investigators lately so here's an update:

First we've got Patrick. I don't remember if i've mentioned him before but we've been teaching him ever since I got here. What happened was he got super busy and his school schedule changed so we couldn't find him for about 3 weeks but we found him available. We were able to talk to him and get him back on track. We set a baptismal date for August 4th which is a long ways out but he wanted that date because it's close to his birthday. We're gonna work hard so he's ready ready when August comes.

He's the only investigator we have with a date but we have some potentials. One is the Midence family. The dad is the only one that comes but we're trying to fix that. To be continued.....

We had another service project this week woot woot!!!! We helped our cook clean a Giant water tank. A lot of the people here have giant water tanks because there's a problem with water in this country in which the majority of the afternoon there isn't water so they have to fill up a tank if they want any water. The good thing is in our appartment is we live directly under the water tank. Anyways we washed the tank with bleach and soap because it had some gnarly smelling chemical. But that wasn't what took the longest time. After it was clean we had to fill it with water. Now this tank has a capacity of about 1,000 liters which is about 265 gallons......... Yeah a ton of water! Also to fill it you just connact a hose and leave it there to fill. Well problem was we didn't have a long enough hose to reach so we had to use 5 gallon buckets to fill the tank. I don't know why but they had a ton of buckets but not a single hose..... We ended filling the tank with 10 5-gallon buckets. 2 hours later the tank was full and ready to go. The good thing was we eat lunch in her house so when we finished we chillaxed a little and ate some lunch.

So I bought a cheap watch that tracks steps and distance and all that stuff and on Saturday we walked 15 kilometers or 9 miles. These feet of mine were destroyed!!

Have a great week and enjoy celebrating America's birthday. Proud to be an American!!
