Pineda: ROUND 2

Cambios this week but good news! Elder Quiñonez and I are staying together. We're both pumped because there will be some exciting things happening this next 6 weeks!

This week was challenging because we couldn't really find some of our investigators. The hard thing here is the majority of the people are available at 5pm or later and basically nobody before that and there's only so much that you can do in 3 hours (we eat dinner at 8 so that's why it's only 3hrs). But we're not giving up yet. Also we weren't able to reach our goal of 5 Baptisms but my comp and I are staying together this next 6 weeks and well we've got a whole lot of potential. Last night my comp and I decided to extend the goal for this next change. We even put it on a piece of paper and stuck it to the wall. Picture below. We're excited to see how it goes this change. We are planing on being obedient to see miracles happen. IT'S POSSIBLE but only with God's help we can do it.

We did eventually find Elton who we've been trying to find for some time now. He comes to church with his older brother and he likes it. We met with him, his mom, and a recent convert at his house and all went well. His mom gave us permission to teach him but didn't agree directly to him being baptized. We'll see about that ;)

We had a meeting with President Carlisle's counselor with the bishopric and other missionaries from our ward. It was super awesome because we have lots of plans as to help for members invite their friends to meet with us. Also we've planned an activity for September 21st which will be super fun. I'll update more in letters to come. We also got a new ward mission leader which we are super pumped about because he's young and excited to work. Things are gonna get rolling this next change.

Take care and ENJOY LIFE!

Meditation and Revelation

Interesting week here in Honduras!

Our investigators didn't really progress this week which was kind of a bummer. Hopefully this week is different so I have somethings to tell about their progress.

This last Monday and Tuesday a member asked if we could help her teach seminary and we accepted! Let's just say the first day was rough cuz well I haven't taught seminary. In Mezapa my trainer taught it while I sat there confused as to what was going on haha so it was interesting! But the second day we planned an awesome lesson that we were excited to teach all day long haha. The students are learning about the Book of Mormon right now and the second day my part was to teach about Helaman 10 which doesn't have much to it but with the lesson manual it went deep into the details of the chapter. The lesson was talking about meditating/pondering. The students actually payed lots of attention which was awesome and I feel like they learned a lot. There was a phrase that I loved. It said something like we need to put God's will before our own. I loved that because all the students just sat there amazed which was kinda funny top see their faces but the message is so true! God's will before ours and then everything will work out and we'll be happier in the end!

So having pondering on my mind I learned a lot. My comp and I were talking one night about lots of things which some of them were deep doctrine which kinda freaked me out haha but as we were talking I was learning but afterwards i went to shower and was "pondering" on what we had talked about and all of a sudden ideas came flowing to my head for my talk. Oh yeah I gave a talk on sunday about missionary work. I had it all good and planned out and I gave it but when i sat down i had realized that I had been talking for about 30 minutes...... don't know how that happened but the members sure loved to bug me about it. Hopefully I don't have to give a talk in this area again haha. But yeah I felt like it was a good talk and was super glad that through the Spirit whispering and giving me revelation I was able to write my talk. It was kinda funny cuz I was getting out of the shower when all the ideas came to my mind so I was hauling to dry off and dressed so I could write it all down.

Hope all is well and that you're learning lots. Good luck to those starting school back at home!

Inspired by Leaders

Fam and Friends,

This week was another one of those busy and miracle filled. I truly felt like we were spiritually fed... well us as missionaries. This week we had Zone Conference and Stake Conference. I loved hearing from the leaders here because they just have a way to motivate. Also for stake Conference Elder Uceda, Area SEventy for Central America, came and spoke a lot but I was happy abecause as he talked time flew by. He shared about how the impact of the Ward council has on members and investigators here in Honduras. He shared how we could improve as missionaries and council to work together to bring more lost sheep to Him. A weird thing happened as I was listening to the leaders talk. Not because I was bored but I honestly had the desire to be outside visiting and teaching people in my area rather than listening to talks. The Lord is truly helping me to improve and be an instrument in His hands. I love being a missionary and Love being able to feel the love that our Father in Heaven has for each and every one of His children. He loves us so much!!! I want to show that I love him by serving him and being worthy to recieve guidance to help others. I hope you all can feel the Love that our Heavenly Father has for you!

SUCCESS!

Heyo!
This week was filled with lots of stuff going on so I'll try to update yall!

Today we went to the stake center to play some BBALL!! I really haven't played since the MTC so it was fun to get back at it. The cool thing is it was inside and it had air conditioning so I'm counting my blessings. I'm gonna be sore tomorrow!!

Tuesday the onwer of our house came over to help clean and finalize things in our house. He asked me if I could help his daughter translate a homework group project that she had. I was super honored because well someone thinks I have good Spanish!!! But yeah it was really cool to see how far I've come and how much I still lack.

Wednesday there was a storm that soaked everything to the bone (even things that don't have them). That made it really hard to visit people and well it was a long day out in the rain.

Thursday we had divisions. Elder Gardner came here to help me out visit in my area. It was super fun and I learned a lot from him. He is going home at the end of this month and well he's a very wise missionary. He taught me lots of thing that will be put into practice. When we went back to drop him off to his area we went to their house. The live basically on the edge of the runway to the airport!!! Ugh that was rough seeing planes take off!! Glad I don't live there!!!!!

Saturday we had a Elder's Quorum activity that we planned and it was super fun! We had a spiritual thought and then afterwards we played Jenga and the loser would have to sing a song or stuff like that. While some played we had chips with Guacamole, a creamy chees sauce, and some high quality salsa! Man it was good! Lots of people came and they all enjoyed being together as a quorum.

This week I was reading in my conference magazine (thanks mom for sending that!). I read a quote from Elder Lynn G. Robbins- "Until Seventy Times Seven". It was such a good talk but what I loved most from it was where he says, "Our success isn't GOING from failure to failure, but GROWING from failure to failure without any loss of enthusiasm." I love this quote because it shows how we achieve success. As we fail and make mistakes in life we learn and grow. As we apply these changes we will be able to have SUCCESS. God wants us to succeed so all we need to do is to keep trying. You can do it!
