CALPULES!!

Well this week was exciting!!!

First of all we recieved changes Sunday night and I'm going to El Carmen-Capules. From the members and people that I've already talked to say that it's part of San Pedro Sula and they say El Carmen is really dangerous but they didn't know about Capules so extra prayers of safety would be steller!! I leave Mezapa Wednesday morning to be in Progreso at 8. I'm pretty pumped for a new area and a change of views but my Family here in Mezapa will be missed.

This last week was pretty good and we visited a lot. The Moran family are progressing a ton!! I'm kinda bummed I won't be here for their baptism but it's not for me it's for them.

There's another family that we've been teaching and I don't know if I've mentioned them but the Taura family is pretty hardcore too! The grandparents are baptised about 9-10 years ago and their grandkids live with them. There's about 6 of them from ages 8 to 16 years old. The 16 year old is already baptized and is such a big help to the others. These kids love to read the scriptures without the help of their grandparents. Super cool because I had to be reminded a lot. Steller.

We also had a meeting for E'Miranda because he's new and he couldn't at the 5 week mark because of the political stuff. But it was cool because I was able to see some buddies and president had someone cater a lunch which was super good!!

I'm pumped to see what waits me in Las Lomos de El Carmen!! Wish me luck!!

San Pedro Sula Round 3

Hey everybody!

SO this week was pretty casual.

We enjoyed teaching all of our families and the investigators we have here. The Moran family are determined to be baptized. We taught them the Word of Wisdom and they are determined to stop drinking coffee. They were super bummed that they couldn't take coffee anymore but they know that this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, is true and that it'll allow them to be a happy family. We went to their house this morning to make Ecuadorian tortillas because they're different than normal tortillas and they were talking to a neighbor that came over and said that the next time they think of bringing coffee over they should bring pepsi or cocacola instead and man was I happy. There is a family that knows what's right!!!!! I AM SO FLIPPING EXCITED FOR THEM!!!!!

Thursday night we got a call that I needed to go to San Pedro to get my Residency which is super fast for only having 7 months out haha. But I went and saw some other buddies and chilled with the secretaries in their brand new 2018 Nissan truck. Oh and we also went to Dennys for lunch which was awesome!! I got back late to Progresso and the last bus had already left for Mezapa so I had to sleep in progreso with my buddies there. It was fun except for the fact that I had to sleep in my church clothes and was blind in the morning. Hahaha but it made for some good memories.

I hope you all are well this week. I found a cool scripture for you to go read and It's only 2 lines long so go read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  LUKE 1:37

Miracles

Hey Fam and Friends!

This week was pretty crazy! It has been pretty cold and yesterday we went to a place like DI and I found a sweet sweater because man it's chilly!

Yesterday something pretty cool happened. We were coming home from progreso on the bus when I noticed someone took some CTR rings from my back pack. I didn't do anything because it was just a ring so no big deal and it was kinda funny because he stole a ring that promotes doing good things. When we got back to the house I checked everywhere for my plaque that has the magnet on the back for shirts that don't have the pocket. Couldn't find it and realized that the guy  took my plaque as well. I was pretty bummed because the mission here doesn't make manetic plaques. Only the ones with the pins. So I was pretty bummed and we left the house to write. We got to the church and there wasn't any electricity. The workers there that are constructing a baptismal font said that some guy came earlier in the day and cut the electricity because there was a debt that the church has had since 2016...... doubt it but whatever. So we couldn't write yesterday and that just made me more let down cuz writing is the best part of the whole week! We called the ZL's to see if we could go write somewhere else but they said to just wait til we got to progreso the next day (today), to write. So we left and were walking back to the house when we saw the theif in the streets. My comp stopped him and you could tell he felt guilty taking my stuff. He started to take all the jewelry off when we said all we wanted was my plaque. He was fidgeting with his pockets saying that it was broken and and mumbling a bunch of stuff. He took my plaque out and gave it to me and then we left. Hopefully he enjoys the rings and some day figures out what the letters mean on the ring haha.

So that was pretty exciting. Also on Sunday we had 6 investigators in Sacrament meeting which is unreal in the mission. Especially in my area because usually we can barely get 1 to come. In the afternoon we taught the Moran family the restoration with the video and we had the Branch President's daughter come to help us with friendshipping the family and she's a recently returned missionary so she knows her stuff. The spirit was there during the lesson and we invited them to baptism on the 17th of February which is super exciting!! Hopefully they'll be prepared and ready for that day. The sad thing is I probably won't be here but I'm glad that there can be more members and that the Branch here in Mezapa can grow!

We taught the Cruz family and we had to tell them we wouldn't be able to visit them as much anymore because they weren't progressing anymore and they didn't come to church. That was rough like usualy because I don't want to leave investigators!

Life here is good and finally getting exciting. RIght as I'm about to probably be transferred things get moving. But I know that it's not for me, it's for those that we are teaching.

LOve you all and enjoy your week!!

Photos, This computer won't let me send pics so next week, SORRY!!!

Christmas Zone Conference

HEYO!!

So this year has started of pretty good. We have been finding lots of people to teach and they seem to be a lot happier since all of the political stuff has died down. But like usual our investigators didn't come to church :(

The Cruz family are progressing and everything they just haven't come to church at all. IT"S SOOOO FRUSTRATING!! They say they want to and they get all animated on Fridays when we visit them and say they will be there and then 9:00 Sunday morning rolls around and then pbth they don't show up. Patience is being taught here. But I think that's how Heavenly Father feels when we don't do what we are supposed to. The good thing is we can keep trying and keep improving.

We are teaching another family as well. The Moran Family. They are so awesome!! There are 4 kids and the parents and they are really smart like they answer all of the questions and MAN I love em! Everytime we are there teaching them I can feel the spirit strongly and I can tell they do too. The only thing is we need them to start coming to church and I think they'll be awesome members in the future.

Today in the morning we played soccer with one of the kids in the branch here. He just turned 8 years old on the 6th and he's pretty chill. We went to a field close to his house and played some hardcore soccer. But MAN am I out of shape!! We are walking all day long basically but I have realized that running and walking are two different things haha. We are going to be running some more so I can be in better shape!

Have a good week!

We had zone conference and took some pics with my boi Fuentes

We made Zone shirts. The front is lame but the back is dope!

So I was playing with the little kids at lunch and I was pushing one of them on a little tricycle and the handle slipped off and a lot of my weight was balanced on it and I fell and got a sweet scratch. The kids were flipping out because blood was coming out haha

Feliz Ano Nuevo!

Hola Familia y Amigos!

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Year and all are safe and happy!

This last week was pretty rough because we had to stop teaching Joel because he wasnt progressing. On the mission there are some key things that need to happen for an investigator to progress and to be able to be baptized. My buddy Joel listened to all the lessons, read the Book of Mormon, asked questions. Probably the golden investigator. He just couldnt ever make it to church. After a month of teaching him we had to leave him for a little while. I feel like in the future he will be baptized but for now he will just have to enjoy reading the Book of Mormon.

The family that we are teaching from Naranjo were out of town this whole end of year but they are coming back so  we are gonna hit the new year running with them.

This last week was pretty chill because everybody was celebrating for Christmas and the New Year so we could travel to progresso with out any problems so that was nice. We had Zone Conference that was supposed to happen before Christmas but with all the problems we werent able to have it until the Last Saturday.

The people here love fireworks and so all night on the 24th and the 31st they were lighting them up! We were watching them for the new year and man are they strong. They basically only have the loud explosion type of fireworks so my ears were ringing! But they have some cool fireworks. One they call a mortar and man that explosion is huge. Your ears ring and  you can feel the wave of sound hit you. Yeah super strong but super cool!

It was a good week and I am loving it here and I hope you are loving life wherever you are
