Fruits of the Labors

Heyo!!!
This week was a great one and we had lots of work to do.

First of all we were preparing Olga the whole week for her baptism and even though we had a problem with baptismal clothing (that seems to be a problem in every area..... ) we are proud to say that our friend Sister Olga is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We are so proud of her and her decision. She won't regret it ;)

This week we were able to have interviews with President and man were they interesting. We got down to the bottom of things and he really helped me feel like I was floating as I walked out of his office. Such an inspired man!

We've been working hard this week with references and we mainly have youth that we are working with but I feel more comfortable with them so I'm definitely OK with it. There's lots of potential in them so we're excited!

My dad shared a quote with me from Elder Holland that I'd like to end this letter with,

"Don't wait to live. This isn't a rehearsal; this isn't a dry run; this isn't a pre-performance routine. This is it. This is real life. Don't wait. Savor every minute.
Learn from the past, plan for the future, but the only moment you've got is right now. Don't look back and lament, and don't wait needlessly for the future. Live in the moment and savor it as if it were that one moment 'on the which the shadow stands.' if you'll do the best you can with each hour of your life, you're going to find that at the end that you have had a rich and wonderful experience."

Live in the moment!

New Comp

Que onda!
Week one down with the new comp and I have already seen lots of little miracles happen every day. I love miracles cuz they blow your mind and also let you realize how much God's hands are in our lives.

A miracle was we only had one appointment yesterday and to be honest I didn't want to contact all afternoon. But all off a sudden a member calls and says come to my house at 3. Reference! After that the appointments came in one by one almost the same way until the while afternoon got filled. We were blessed because 1. we didn't have to contact all afternoon and 2. we got some references!

Other miracle: so this week I was getting kinda down and lacking motivation but Saturday we go to a welcome home party for a sister missionary from Pineda. We get there and just meeting her and seeing her excitement made me wanna be like that and got my energy/motivation cranking again. God works in mysterious ways.

Another miracle/answer to a prayer was I was praying to know if the baptismal date for an investigator was the one. The next day we went to the office to pick up an elder to be in a trio for the morning. We go back and we go talk to president about her situation and he said it was fine that we baptize her this week! ANSWER TO A PRAYER! Crazy thing is I didn't realize it until I was praying at night and I realized and had to thank Heavenly Father in that moment. That's the crazy thing is you don't realize it's an answer to prayer in the moment normally. It's usually not until a while later you realize it was an answer. But yeah we may have a Baptism this weekend (the 20th) We just have to settle a few things but we're optimistic about it. I'll let you know next week if it happens or not haha

Info about new comp: from Argentina, I can understand him a lot more now haha, middle child of 5 kids so that's the same as me-2older bros and 2 younger sisters, walks like a speedwalker, 21 yrs old, his hobby's are ping pong and tennis. Such a good guy!

Funny story for the week:
So we get home at night Saturday and I get to ironing my shirts so I don't have to on Sunday and we'll got carried away and ironed for the whole week. I finish up sweatin buckets cuz I'm here in the Sahara desert. Go to get in the shower and am happy showering, jamming to some good ole MOTAB when the lights start to flicker. They stable a little bit and then *bujewwww* (like the sound effects when the lights go out in movies). I have to shut the water off, find my way around to get my towel then look for a lantern or flashlight, something to light up. I get the lantern and turn it on and my comp is chilling there on the phone with the "what just happened" face. Just some normal life here in Honduras.

Also shoutout to my Sister for allowing me to be a Tío May 2019!

Love you all,

Feelin' Full

TRANSFERS ARE THKS WEEK!!!  Elder Quiñonez is going to Progreso in the Zone where I started, and my new comp is........... Elder Ludueña. He's from Argentina. He's from the group that I came to Honduras with and to be honest I couldn't understand a single thing that he said in the MTC but hopefully that I can understand him haha. I'm super pumped because there's gonna be some miracles happen here in Pineda!

Man do I love conference! I feel so much better and more motivated to LOVE one another. That was a theme I found as I heard those inspired talks. All these changes happening are making it easier for us to be able to love our spiritual brothers and sisters as well as our own families. I liked what Elder Oaks said that "the church is a family centered church". I know that President Russell M. Nelson is God's mouthpiece here on the earth. Just sitting there listening to him amazed me! So goodbye to all those Mormons out there it was nice while it lasted. Also a small favor for those at home, let me know what happens to Jamesthemormon ;)

Here are some of my notes of things that were just Juicy:

"Fear limits us from receiving revelation." -Elder Rasband

"You don't need to wonder what is true." -Elder Christofferson

"Love, Accept, Include." -Elder Soares

"Perfection is in Christ, not others." -Elder Gong

"Believe, Love, Do." -Elder Uchtdorf

"Don't burden remembrance with something that's already gone." -Elder Holland

"You may be exhausted but don't ever give up." -Elder Anderson
(that one was super motivating)

"No one is preordained to fail." -Elder Robert C. Gay

Those are just a few of many that I enjoyed. I'm super excited for when the talks come out so I can listen and read them over and over because they will be a comfort and guidance in our lives for the next 6 months. Cherish them!

As for the mission work here..... I know I said that this week was gonna have tons of work haha well I didn't remember that this week was kinda like a "fall break" for them so lots of people went out of town and we couldn't find basically any of them. But we were able to find a few and are hoping to get back to it this week.

Take Care,

Work Work Work Work Work

It's good to be back! This week was full of surprises and work.

So this whole week and last week we were preparing for an activity we had Saturday night. It was about Jesus and his apostles and how their stories. We showed how they died with videos and narration and ended with how Joseph Smith restored the Gospel that Christ established when he was here on the earth. It was super cool because we invited a ton of members and inactives. But the best part was we asked the members to bring their family and friends that aren't members and they actually brought them!! It was super awesome because now we're gonna be working hard this next week. The Lord truly blessed us this week.

Also we found well more like a member gave us an awesome reference! The ironic thing was we were outside his house when he was telling us that there's a family that he wanted us to visit that they're super interested and all that. As we were talking THE FAMILY WALKS BY! We stopped them and scheduled an appointment with them. We went to their house that day and the dad said that he's read all of the Triple and the Bible and knows a ton about the church. He said that he respects the church and the members because of how they are and he says he looks up to the member that gave us the reference. Prayers have been answered ;) Update coming next week. Stay tuned

Shout-out to my comp because today he turns 20 years old. I know such an oldie but we partied hard and celebrated with some cake and soda (there always has to be soda *eyeroll*)

Love you all and I am excited to hear your thoughts on Conference! Write down your questions and get ready for some great spiritual food (and maybe some crazy changes like last time ;) ).
