Feelin' the Love

Heyoo!
First off I'd like to bring to your attention if you haven't heard already...... WE CAN DO VIDEO CHATS MORE OFTEN!! Haha now's a time for revelation and it's more than just during General Conference. Although I kinda love the email thing. We'll see how it goes these next 4 months!

Second, the earth is melting!! The climate here has been getting hotter and hotter. There's been less rain and man can you feel it. The glorious feeling of wiping sweat off your face every 5 seconds has returned and I am so stoked...... Haha but I shouldn't complain because I won't ever find a foot of snow out my front door ;)

Other than that Trujillo has been nice! On Saturday we had a ward party celebrating Valentine's Day. We put it all together for the women in the ward. It was fun because there were some youth that performed for their moms doing dances or singing. The Bishop put on a cowboy hat and sang some old, romantic Spanish songs. He really got into the songs which made it funny. I love the Bishop here! Then part of the program we all had to prepare something that's called piropos. That's spanish and I'm pretty sure it means Pickup lines. Haha so we were gettin a little cheesy/romantic for a minute. Obviously we as missionaries used some calm ones but there were some pretty good ones. The women were laughing so it was a success. In case you were wondering the one I used was "I know being a thief is wrong but, one of your hugs I would love to rob" or something along those lines haha. Pretty good don't you think? :) Overall lots of people came and we have food and cupcakes with juice (maybe that's why lots of people came) at the end.

This week we went to visit lots of people. One of them was a family that we found last week and it's been a rollercoaster! First off to find them all at home is a miracle. Second, when we do find them the kids have a short attention span. It's been a struggle but what we love about them is they are some of very few people that say they want to pray every single time. We love it because lots of people don't want to pray.

The Lino Family is doing GREAT! We've finally been able to teach their older son and he listens well and all is well with them. We want them all to be ready together on the same date for their baptism so it may be a little bit longer so we can get the oldest all caught up. But we're excited for them! They also came to the ward party and their kids participated and it was awesome! The oldest son that we had a hard time finding did a dance and it was super good! Their daughter also sang and she did really well! They feel really comfortable with the members and they feel accepted which is as missionaries LOVE! I love the ward here!

This week I was studying the General Conference talk from Elder Christofferson titled "Firm and Steadfast in the Faith of Christ". It was a really good talk and I loved listening to it. It actually had some Interesting stories and ideas. Go read it! What I loved came from the last paragraph which says, "Always remember the promise of good things to come,  both now and hereafter, for those who are firm and steadfast in the faith of Christ. Remember 'eternal life, and the joy of the saints.' 'O all ye that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon his love; for ye may, if your minds are firm, forever.' " Not only do we need to feast on food and the scriptures, but we also need to feast on his love. But I also love that it says if our minds are firm we will be able to feast on his love forever. We need to keep studying and learning to be able to feel more of His love in our life. Want to feel more love? Study more about him and you'll find it

Bringing Back the Flock

Transfer one here in Paradise down in the books. They called last night and we're all staying. Nobody in the district had changes which mah boi Elder Beck and I are stoked about! It's gonna be a good 6 weeks!

Tuesday a member invited us for lunch and Woah it was some high quality stuff. It was weird because I felt like i was eating dinner for the type of meal she made but man was it good! While we were eating she says "oh that's right we have an appointment at 5 today with a guy who I met and talked about the church to. I told him we'd come over at 5 today. You don't have anything at 5 right?" haha luckily we didn't have an appointment then. I love this lady because she's very direct with everything. We visited the reference with her and he really likes to listen and he's been reading what we leave for him. He didn't come to church yesterday but we're gonna figure out why because he was pumped to go. He also was asking a lot about baptism and he was content with what we shared. We'll keep y'all updated.

Wednesday I did some exchanges with the other elders here in Trujillo. It was fun and was cool to meet their investigators and to see the other half of Trujillo. The next morning we had to wake up early and head out to a little city/town called Olanchito for exchanges with the ZLs. It wasnt that fun of a ride but it was cool how God helped us arrive. Neither of us knew the way to get there but we asked for a little help and trusted in God and we we saw some cool little miracles. Like my parents have showed me we said a prayer to be protected on our journey and to not have problems. We headed out the door and we were a little late to catch one of the busses and as we're walking a guy passes and gives us a ride to the bus stop and we get there on time (miracle #1). We get there and ask how much the ticket and they said it was 250 Lempiras (which is A TON!) so we decided to find another bus. We walk down the street to another bus company and we find one that will charge 80 to get to the same place. Yeah it was a dinky little thing but we saved L170 so we were pumped(miracle#2). So we start hauling on this bus but it left later than we were wanting so we were pumped. This bus passes the bus we were gonna take and we had explained what happened to the bus helper and as he sees the bus he's like "look were gonna pass the bus!" haha we were laughing. But we got to our midpoint before the other bus (miracle 3). So we get off and the next bus we needed to take comes about 5 min later and we head out to Olanchito. We get there 15 minutes early but we had left late..... Definitely a big miracle right there! We were so grateful for God's help. If it's important to us, it's important to Him.
But exchanges were really fun! For dinner Elder Gallegos (I was with him and I actually will go home with him) and I went to this place where they sold some wings. I got some with some spicy BBQ sauce and  they were delicious! They were almost as good as Buffalo Wild Wings. They also had a fruit smoothie drink that was UNREAL! I was so tempted to buy another but I was full so I didn't. But this drink was like drinking Starbursts and awe man I WAS DROOLING! This next change when we head there again I'm definitely gonna order another haha. But we also learned a ton. He gave me a few pointers and things we could improve on as a district. It's gonna be good! Love mah buddy Gallegos. Such a good guy!

Yesterday my Uncle Hno. Thomas (he calls us his nephews now haha) shared the priesthood lesson yesterday and he asked a question that was cool. The lesson was on the Conference talk "Shepherding souls" by Elder Stevenson. It's a good talk so read it. But anyways he asked us "who is a shepherd here?" People said the Bishop but he said no and we were kinda confused. He then said "we all are shepherds". He then went on to explain why. But I love that. We don't need to have a leadership calling to be a shepherd. Our role as members of Christ's restored church is to watch over and protect those within the flock. The Great Shepherd is Jesus Christ. But we are the sheepdogs. We help protect others from danger. Dangers that cause others to stray away from the flock. Watch over your friends and help them uplift them. Help The Great Shepherd in bringing his flock back to the presence of our Heavenly Father.

Made with Love

Greetings family and friends......
Haha kidding, WAZZUP FAM?!

First off Feliz Cumpleaños to my Mama Bear yesterday. Such a blessing to have you in my life!  Love ya momma! :)

Man this week, I don't know what was going on but the set appointments we had just weren't working. More than half fell so we hit the streets looking for new people. We have found a few that have some promise but this week we'll see how things go. Haha one of them we found and set an appointment for Saturday and when we got there they came out saying the guy we found had been called to work. He works on the cruise ships (like a ton of people here) so they're out 6 or 7 months at a time and then get about 3 to 4 months vacation. He was a good guy and had tons of potential. Bummer he had to head out. We'll just have to start without him teaching his fam.

Our Golden family (the Lino Family) went to Ceiba this week so we had to reschedule for tonight but we're pumped for them. They're almost ready to get baptized so lots of prayers for them! The son came for a 2nd week in a row so we are pumped for that! This family is going places!

Also another family we have is progressing. One of the kids (well I guess he's an adult but you get the picture haha) is progressing a ton and we're preparing him for the 16th so we're also excited for him. His family is a little bit slower than him but they're getting there.

Today we climb the mountain here and BOYYYYYYY!! That view was PRECIOUS! I'll attach some pics but, like lots of people say, the camera just didn't do it justice! It's one of those views that just make the chills race from head to toe in less than a second. Earth is such a beautiful place. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are artists. Being here in Trujillo has really helped me see that they love us so much that they placed such beautiful landscapes to appreciate everything. It took "6 days" to create the earth. But that doesn't mean 144 hours everything was slopped together and finished like many school projects done the night before. They took their time to really create a beautiful place for us to be able to learn and become like him. As you look around, take in the beauty of the nature around you. Take a deep breath (unless there's some gnarly pollution like there usually is in Utah at this time of year) and soak it all in. God loves you. He gave the world to you. But the greatest gift he has given us to be able to return to him and be perfect like he is, thanks to our Big Brother, Jesus Christ. They love you! Always keep that in mind.

Love y'all
